Whoops, I forgot to write yesterday.

I think I was celebrating too much because it was my last long work day in a long time.

I also did a bit of cleaning at home that I had been putting off for a long time.

I think I need to finish sorting and grouping these unsorted Kanji as fast as possible so I can make my finalized data set and then make the final Kanji groupings.

Then I can be confident that the stuff I am publishing is correct and that the data is all good.

Once I get into the flow of a certain task  – either sorting the unsorted Kanji or rewriting Japanese vocabulary into the Korean alphabet – I can really pump a lot of data out.

Okay, this is the last hill to climb.

Today is going to be my last long working day before I officially go into “student mode” and I need to focus on studying, researching, and publishing as much as possible.

And also because it’s “student mode”, I’m not going to be earning as much money because I’m going to be working really part time since I need to focus on studies.

I’m going to have to cut back on a lot of extraneous expenses and focus on bare essentials.

I also will need to sharpen my focus and time management skills.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been on a “budget diet” but it has to be done.

I did actually go on a big “budget diet” back in 2012-2013 when I traveled around the world for about a year for just $15,000, which is still one of my biggest accomplishments, from a financial perspective.

I need to channel some of that past energy and apply it to my current situation.

My new work schedule will start next week and I will be able to go to sleep at a reasonable time.

It’s amazing how an out of whack sleep schedule can really mess up your brain and make it so hard to do anything.

Also, my schedule hasn’t been too regular these days as well, and that makes it hard to establish a consistent writing, studying, and researching habit.

Establishing consistent daily habits is essential.

I also have some consistent habits that I have already established and I can just add on additional habits before and after those already established habits.

Getting enough sleep is so important. So important.

My sleep the past week has been absolutely terrible.

I haven’t been able to focus and get work done.

Fate is kind of funny.

I was already thinking about working less hours to fix my sleep schedule and to spend more time on my personal projects.

And then what happens?

I get an email saying that my working hours were being reduced.

At first, I was shocked, since I wasn’t expecting to be forced to work less hours.

But then I realized that  this is an opportunity for me to find more meaningful work and try to work more on Pahanngana.

Okay, I think I need to really think about my time and schedules.

I haven’t been able to get enough sleep these days so I think I maybe have to do somethings differently.

I have to schedule out my naps during the day.

I need to strike a balance between work and rest.

I also have a lot of tasks and things i want to accomplish, so I have to think about where I will spend my time.

These days I’ve been writing and doing my language analyses at night when I should already be sleeping.

I need to get as much stuff done as possible as early in the day as possible so I can just go to sleep.

All right, I registered for the TOPIK level 2, so I need to spend some time studying for that.

Also, while going to Hongdae is fun and all, it really takes a lot of time and it really ends up screwing up my sleep schedule and I don’t really get much stuff done.

However, getting out there and meeting people and hanging out with people at least once a week is pretty important so I don’t go crazy from staying inside my house and working all day.

So maybe Saturday will have to be my “work rest day” just like how people take rest days from exercise.

That means I’ll have to compensate and do more on the other 6 days of the week.

So I’m going to keep track of how many Japanese vocabulary words I have rewritten into Pahanngana.

I’m going to go with 10,000 words as a long term goal.

10,000 vocabulary words come to about a B2 to C1 level on the CEFR scale or a JLPT 2.

I think it’s a good long term goal, and if I just rewrite 10 words a day, I can finish rewriting 10,000 words in under3 years, which seems like a really long time, but that also means I can finish rewriting 3,000 vocab words in one year.

3,000 vocab words in a good amount of words to be dealing with to compare to Japanese to Korean.

Okay, tomorrow is Friday and I have a lot of time on Fridays and Saturdays so I should get a lot of stuff done.

I’ll see how many videos I can record and work on making my “video template.”

I’ve been creating and making spreadsheet templates to organize my data, and quickly and effectively and possible.

So I should work on creating a “video template” that will allow me to make videos as quickly as possible.

I’ll need to write a script so I know what I can say.

I’ll also need to make a whiteboard template so I can organize my data on the screen clearly and easily.

Okay, so I think I’ve got recording setup all set up.

I set up the:

  • Microphone
  • Webcam to record me
  • Webcam to record what I’m writing
  • What program to record both video streams (Quicktime Player is amazing! Apple and MacOS all the way!)
  • Whiteboards, markers, and erasers.

Now, all I need to do is schedule my recordings.

I think 5-6 pm is a good time for me to record. Let’s just set it at that for now.

I have a lot of content that I need to get out, and now I have my equipment all set up.

It feels pretty good. I already did some video test runs to make sure that the audio is working and that the video looks good as well.

Okay, I need to work on recording a video during the day and getting as much stuff done as possible as early as possible.

Also, I need to schedule a nap during the day since I work both early in the morning and late at night.

I’m going to try to record a video before I go to sleep.

I’m very sleepy, and it’s 9:20 pm as I’m writing this, but I still have work to do.

I need to do as many important tasks as early as possible when I have a lot of energy and not put things off until later in the day.
